Top Five Reasons To Respect Lightning

In light of a recent t-storm that rolled through I thought I would do my duty and help remind people why we need to give lightning teh respect it deserves. Not that you won’t find me outside admiring it as it passes overhead but that’s just how I roll. Enjoy!

One thing that fascinates me to no end is teh type of person it takes, beyond simply being a simple redneck, to enjoy fire. I don’t mean just look at a licking flame and find it pleasing to look at. I’m talking about people who obviously get off on it to teh point that it just doesn’t make sense anymore. Looking at how we react and enjoy things without rising above them makes me wonder if we’re now stuck in this way of life and that we’ll never evolve like we should. But I digress. From a guy using a 5 gallon gas can on a pile of logs and thinking he can light it while standing only 5 feet away to a girl who just spends about 3 minutes just… well I’ll let you check it out for yourselves. These are my top ten ways not to play with fire:

So I am officially back to work with teh company that shall not be named. They have gone to teh trouble of initiating a social networking policy while I was laid off. Mostly it just talks about how one shouldn’t speak as though they speak for teh company and not themselves. Also about how not to mention anyone or anything about teh company to anyone online or on any kind of social network. And they touched on situations relating to my incident with my video rants on YouTube where I was told to take something down because while teh person that was talked about was not named in any significant way and I never said who I worked for there are people who work with me that will know who I am talking about when they see teh video and as such I must take it down. I was commented upon during that incident that my Supervisor had no idea I could reach such levels of anger over anything, let alone this particular topic. Needless to say she gives me a wide berth at work now. Very strange.

Lessy is asking me to come visit. I guess she’s of a mind now that she will not see me before my friend’s wedding and that she feels she may not be able to attend. If I do work good enough and get enough commission I will be able to get to her down there sooner than she thinks. If I end up getting transferred as well that will speed things up significantly. That said teh contract that was advertised to be in Beaverton has been taken down completely from teh internal hiring pages. Poof. Gone.

Getting to meet teh new group and I’m going to attempt to get all their names though I already know I’ll fail in certain areas:

Zack, Sean, Margarita, Rob, Raj, Mike, Angie, Marina, Tara, Jodie, Nick, Jackery, Chris, Joanne, Marilyn, Bobby.

That’s missing at least half a dozen peeps. Sorry guys/gals. You’re just not memorable. Oh well.

So looks like they’re ready to bring us back to work. Bad news is that I am not approved for transfer. Apparently I need to have my work visa before I can apply for an internal transfer to another country. I’m not really sure how that works though because anything I’ve read about it describes teh employer filling out teh forms so that you can get teh work visa. Even when I filled out this very detailed application form for an interview at teh US Consulate (a DS-160) I was just told via website and email that “That’s great you still need your passport and an I-129 when you show up for the interview.” even though I thought that applying for teh DS-160 was how I was getting my work visa.

So of course my Lessy is upset with the delays. She would have me there right now and I cannot say I blame her. I mean how can she swat me properly when I’m being a dork unless I’m there in person right? That and I just can’t take her away from her friends and family right now. She’d have a horrible time of things. So now I go back to work at a pay rate .83 cents less than when I was laid off. Time to majorly cut some corners starting with ditching TV and teh Land Line. Would bring my Rogers + Koodo bills down to approximately $75 a month (paying $255 for both bills right now) which would be a good start.

So I’ve been bugged again by HR in Beaverton. Seems teh different HR departments go by teh same scripts. I waited 10 days to get an answer from Beaverton only to have them ask me through London HR if I had my passport and papers in place. Well no I can’t get any kind of Work Visa without a passport. It also takes two weeks to get a passport. If they had agreed to hire me then I could have gotten teh passport in 24 hours. That’s okay though we’ll just let them flounder and see how much they actually care about hiring people for their new contract.

Meanwhile I still have no other job prospects and teh places I would work are not only not hiring they’re closing stores. So pathetic. It could be worse I suppose I could be laid off and waiting for my EI claim to be approved. Oh wait. *sighs*

Lessy grows more anxious by teh day of course. If only I could just be there and have this all resolved. At this point if I don’t see any action from Stream I’m going to give my notice here and move back home. I’m better off just saving money that way than trying to live with almost no income on my own. It’s not what I want to do. Even though it’s what I want getting this whole issue resolved gets me into a bit of a panic. I really don’t know how complicated it’s going to be, just that for teh better part of a year I will be without a lot of things I’m used to so I can be with her. It will be worth it, just seems a bit daunting looking at it from teh far side.

This post I’m being an evil little self-promoter. A good friend of mine, Hetriani, has posted a major collab video which is a cover of Creeping Death by Metallica. He made teh video available in it’s upload form so that it could be posted at highest quality on any profile. Now I’m not any of teh musicians in this collab, just one of teh many people going “Die, Die, Die” at around minute 5 of teh song. It’s epic my friends.
